I started all excited this year about doing the college program, and I promised myself that I would keep posting on my blog about every little thing that I was doing while doing this.... But in the end.. being busy kept me from it!
This is of course no excuse! I should've been busy with the blog instead!
Well as we all know I started the program on June 6th! That day I found out I was going to be working at the Yacht and Beach Club Resorts! wasn't too excited about it at first, but throughout my program Ive learned to love working at a resort, and i really love it there.
At the day of my arrival the girls I was gonna room with decided they wanted to move to Patterson instead of Chatham, I still wanted Chatham, but if 3 out of 4 wanted PC then I guess I was out numbered. I like it here though, its nice, too quiet. I like to go out and be around people. It looks like people at Patterson hide a lot.
Anyways this is going to be my update for now! Im really tired and going to sleep now!

What's Up!
Hello there!
As you can see I had this blog completely neglected, and I am sorry for that, but fear no more! I shall have this up and running again. So what new news have I got for you since my last posts on April? Well lets see if I remember! During April it was my birthday [YEY! I turned 24!] I got to go shopping and buy nice Spring clothe. I had Spring Break during those days also, and beginning those short vacations my laptop died! Yeah, so as you can see I've been without a laptop/computer for quite a while, hence why I'm not writing as often as I did in the beginning. Once those vacations ended I finished my super complicated project for my Seminar class, glad that's over. I stayed 2 straight days awake. Well I think it was more then 2 days, like 53 or 56 hours without sleep. That takes a toll on you, after that all I wanted to do was sleep for days, who wouldn't!?! I've had a lot of exams and hand ins. All the while I was still without a laptop, I used an old one my parents gave me, but it's so slow I can't bare it. Lets fast forward to the end of May and I took all my finals and I officially finished my Marketing Degree and will be graduating in June 26! =] Really excited about that, after spending 6 years in college, starting in Chemical Engineering, then transferring to Marketing. Now all that is left is the wait for Disney!!! Along the way Disney sends emails about stuff you should know, so whether you are doing the Fall Advantage program or the Fall [or Spring] programs you'll get them some time. Now I'm at the point of deciding what to take with me! I can't concentrate though, lately I've been into reading a lot of fashion blogs and stuff and can only seem to concentrate on those!! hahaha well that's ll for now!

Updates!
Well it's been a while since I've actually done something personalized to the blog lol Posting pictures and adding the day # it's pretty easy and doesn't take much time. Well this is what I ave done. Last Saturday our recruiter had organized another presentation, but this one was more focused on the parents. Mine couldn't because my grandfather had just gotten and open heart operation so my mom was taking care of him and my dad had to take care of the house, so they gave me a couple of questions to ask the recruiters and campus rep.
One of their biggest concern was about how we got the money. I was also worried about this. But the fact is that they give you a card, like a credit card but it's like an debit/credit card, where your money gets automatically deposited, but you also have the option to change the automatic deposits to your personal account, you just have to have your card # and a traffic number [ i think that's what it's called] and through the hub [once you get there to disney] you can change where your check gets deposited! But if you like to use the card they give you, well you can use that too, it's also a VISA :)
Another thing, if you guys have questions, you can always ask the recruiters through their email. They always answer, maybe like not right away but they do take time to answer. I've also had a couple of questions in which I asked them and they helped me out.
Right now I'm feeling under the weather. I'm really not feeling good at all :( yesterday I slept all day [almost] and I can't find the strength in me to drive for 2 hours to go back home! *sigh*
I seriously want the Fantasyland expansion to be done with, that's like my fav area in the MK

It's official!
Hey there guys! [or just myself.. hehehehe]
Well now it is finally official! I have just reserved my space in the Disney College Program! I'm officially checking in on June 6th and checking out January 3 for the Fall Advantage Program and like I said I'm in Quick Service Food and Beverage! :)
One of the best things to happen to the college program in my opinion now is.... FACEBOOK! it's easier to connect with people, get extra info and find a roommate if you're not planning on going with a friend! [which is my case.. i did all this aloneee] so I had nobody to room with :( but then ... like sent from above hahahaha nah I asked Kathleen, who had posted in one of the discussions threads that she was looking for roomies in Chatham complex, so I sent her a message and tada! She was already rooming with Taylor, but was looking for a roomie for Megan! So yey! And also at that same time Crystal had sent me a message looking for a roomie, now we are looking for the missing 6th link and the apartment is all done!
So apartments... what is up with them?

The Waiting is OVER!
I really don't think this is normal. I mean, accepted after only 5 days?! YEY!! But I asked around and usually the waiting time is from 2 - 3 weeks! So people be patiente!!
I'll be working in Quick Service Food & Beverage, still don't know which area, cause you get it once you are there! You could try asking your recruiter, but it's mostly a thing of chance!
But think purple!!! And your folder may arrive soon!
Also! Once you get an invitation, you have to accept it by paying the fees! I still haven't done this, seeing as I have to go to my house 'cause my parents want to see it before paying for it, idk.
But yeyyy, also, now is the time you should start looking for a roomie, if you don't have a friend to go with!
There are many blogs, and Facebook groups which you could start looking for!

College Presentation!
So on May 14th I went to my college presentation of the Disney Program. Ever since I was a freshman I saw the propaganda for the program but never actually attended one, so, this being my last semester I decided to give it a try. It was actually pretty fun and entertaining and i found it was better than the e-presentation 'cause you can ask questions directly to the presentation recruiter and get things cleared out! They also had fun games and you could win Disney gadgets like a deck of card, a pen and stuff like that. After the presentation was done, they gave us a paper with the information of all the campus reps. and the school/faculty contact and the next steps to take after watching the presentation. So... what do you do next????
If you did a pretty good job chances are you will get an email saying that you have what they are looking for and will give you a number so you can schedule a phone interview! For the interview be prepared!!! And try to set the appointment as quickly as you can, you want to get this done with before the rest of the other college kids at your college did so, if you wait too much then the process might be longer =]
You should hear from them in about a week, or 2 or 3, it all depends. In my case I did this all quickly, as soon as I got out of the presentation, i went online, applied, did the web based interview and then the next day I called to schedule my interview. I schedule it the next day, and so I got the call. I was everyday checking my email, and I couldn't wait for 2 weeks to pass by, but to my surprise... I got an answer 5 days later!!!!! :D And that day is today ! lol well i'll keep you posted!
- Steps to take after watching the presentation:
- Visit www.disneycollegeprogram.com
- Select the location in which you wish to work [most people, as I did, choose the walt disney world college program, but you can pick the disneyland on, but that one's more costly]
- Click "Apply Now" - Here choose as many roles as you think you can, the more you pick the better chances you have of getting a role as a Cast Member !!!
- Enter the presentation code when prompted
- Complete the web-based interview. Answer as honestly as you can! Remember this is Disney, they want people with Magic, not grumpy people working with them ;)
